Get Rid Of The Advertisements

On Hold

I'm writing you this letter, dear
in hopes that I might make it clear,
so sick of waiting every year
while you pursue your great career.

Please listen here; take my advice;
I have no wish to say it twice
for I have paid too great a price
and put my own great plans on ice.

It doesn't seem quite fair because
the only life full-steam is yours.
This wild-fire in my belly gnaws
for placing all my hopes on pause.

An offer came just yesterday;
a brilliant job, lucrative pay.
I know I'll take it any way,
regardless what you'll have to say.

Hoping I've made myself quite clear,
I bid adieu and shed a tear;
my ultimatum issued here,
but P.S, I still love you dear.
