Picture This

Picture this, if you can, in your mind
A winding road through the countryside
An older couple walking hand in hand
Wild cherry trees in blossom alongside
Peaceful and serene, a field of daisies
A flock of geese flying high in the sky
They stop, he goes down on one knee
Asking if she would become his bride
So romantic, he offers a plucked daisy
Nodding toward a withered wooden gate
Past it, the little cottage he'd built for her
To see the inside she simply cannot wait
He opens the door and then ushers her in
She's so happy, she gives him a big kiss
They've done this now for fifty-two years
On the same date to celebrate their bliss
