Hearts Are Bleeding

' The earth's heart is bleeding '

With much heartache and sorrow
For the proud country of Japan
Diligent and hard working people
They are doing the best they can

And there you will see no lootings
As was witnessed in New Orleans
They've a mutual respect for others
Depending upon their own means

An earthquake and then tsunamis
Took all they've worked hard for
There are heroes in nuclear plants
Trying to cool down hot reactors

Showing bravery beyond compare
Risking exposure to radio activity
Trying to protect the lives of others
It's simply the epitome of bravery

Prayer is needed for the Japanese
Dear God, please show them mercy
Challenged by unrelenting tragedy
It will take years for their recovery

' What the world needs now is love '

To usher in a brand new beginning
Perhaps all along it was merely fate
It has been scheduled for April this Spring
The royal wedding of Will and Kate

Please, in no way am I suggesting
Nor implying it will could heal everything
But to focus on something different
Even for a moment, relief it may bring

Some say things happen for reasons
Nothing could be cause enough for this
Let us join hands across all nations
To quell the vile swirling of this abyss
