Duly Noted

When I had finally come to the realization

Issues have more sides than just my side

When truths made it even harder to ignore

'Twas an awakening for my stubborn pride

Yet, in a way, it had become my salvation

Seems everything did not depend on me

It didn't have to be my way or the highway

With me, they had every right to disagree

I was eat up with I'm right and you're wrong

Thankful I was shown the error of my way

Back in the seventies, I learned this lesson

Noted in my life's journal such a grand day

Prior to which everything was black or white

Since then, I have seen colors of rainbows

And I thank God I learned this lesson in time

From what I've heard, you reap what you sow
