HAND IN HAND TOGETHER

A new day is dawning, together we awake
Our life together is true reality, not fake.
He reads the daily newspaper, while I cook
It's what he wants to eat, worth the time it took.

He is off to do whatever it is he wants to do
Sometimes fishing, or working in the shop too.
I clean house, do laundry, time for computer
This is often my pass time, I'm it's commuter.

I write a poem, or read what others have written
To this way of life, I know I have been smitten.
When he is here, I watch closely and close doors
To save money, I turn off unused lights, doing chores.

He does the maintenance work, he's our handy man
Takes me places, if I don't want to drive and he can.
We're always here for each other to lend helping hand
Best friends we are, no fights, I wear his wedding band.

I balance the budget, together we grocery shop
We plan meals, cook together, it's nonstop.
Three hundred sixty five days every year
Multiplied by 54 years plus, I don't ever jeer.

Together we're such a part of each other now
Whether we wear a smile or frown upon the brow.
Hand in hand, we ride out storms of life together
It must be love, and we are a bird of a feather.

My ideal man would take me out to eat, I'd not always cook
We'd socialize often, and our best we would always look.
He would adore me, call me his babe, listen to my voice
Tell me he loved me, using sweet words, I'd be his choice.

He would let me know he appreciates me every day
Make love to me in every wonderful possible way.
We'd ride on cloud nine because our love was so strong
Laying on beds of rose buds and silken sheets I long.
