Fantasy and Pretend Versus Reality

Reality became her saving grace
Kept her from drowning in disgrace
Lured her into life's thrilling tide
Helped her hold her slipping pride

Fantasy played it's fleeing part
Touched the inner core of her heart
Ran amok in twilight's ecstasy zone
Landed upon reality and made it's atone

Connected with pretend, within it's toil
Made the passion become sudden broil
Fantasy became life's envied play mate
Spreading joy and bliss as it would dictate

Bubble busted as reality hit it's true mark
Wasn't quite what love expected to embark
No real connection, only fantasy make believe
Nothing gained, not much did it achieve
