Storm of Desire

The midnight sky grew weary,
The stars burned like distant suns,
The moon grew dim behind the mist,
My heart knew what had begun,

The look in your eyes was magical,
The smile on your face was cruel,
The passion in your voice was mystical,
My heart warned; don’t be a fool,

The wind smelled like distant anger,
The lightning flashed like fire,
The thunder crashed like lustful ache,
My heart felt a storm of desire,

The morning broke so peaceful,
The dawn shown clear and bright,
The day was new, a fantasy for two,
My heart found love that night.
