MY SECRET PLACE

There is a place that lives in me and has all of my life
It’s a place I go not of the world, a place with no pain or strife

There’s music here sometimes with words, at times there’s just a song
But it’s a place I am alone, a place I finally belong

There are no people in this world, I am alone and free
A child in a soft, pink dress dancing in a meadow, just me

My dress it flows and twirls around as I move with the sounds
And I feel peace, finally peace, it’s a place that a tiny child found

The sky is blue and sun it shines and lights up the day
And breezes blow against my face as I move and I sway

I have no shoes, the grass is wet and squishes tween my toes
There is a meadow all around and flowers of color just flow

Trees with limbs that sway in the wind as leaves drop at my feet
And it is here that my soul is filled and with God’s Spirit I meet

The words and music flow into me and lives inside my skin
As I move round my secret place, a world where there is no sin

I stand in a place where lush grass grows, trees and flowers are free
No people can ever hurt me here, I am alone just to be

When music plays and fills my soul I go to my secret place
And I dance to the music as a child but you’ll never see my face

You can never, ever enter this place as it belongs to me
When music plays I go away, as reflections dance from me
