Reason For Being

Mom and Dad, Donald and EJ, Mom and
Dad B., Donna, Buddy, Mike, Cindy, Renee...
so many others.. I'll always remember)
I think of you when night lies still
and stars are breathless, when time
has fallen into place, each second
aware of its moment, its reason for
being... I think of you when sun is
rising and when it loses itself behind
twilight's horizon, when clouds chase
each other in a never-ending race, or
when the sky is like blue glass, clear,
unblemished... I think of you when
colors fade into the silence of a rainbow,
when the taste of rain is fresh and new,
and I think of you when I least expect
it, when your memory nudges me to
simply be, to live and to love, to remember
that every breath I take is no more or less
important than the last or the next...each
has its moment, its reason for being....
and here I find myself again....
here... where time has fallen into place.
