I lay asleep. something stirred within my soul
My eyes flicked open. That's when love walked in
I always called her Teddy ... she always called me momma
I had never seen her before still there she was. face full of
concern... eyes full of empathy. Arms wide open... heart full
of love.. Tall , skinny, long dark haired just like her picture
Now I have met Love
Unsullied... asking for nothing
Hope in both her hands
She bend down and hugged me... my sickbed felt more
comfortable. Then quiet, she just sat and held my hand.
Conversation was not necessary..I felt some of her strength
flow into me and i was refreshed,,, ready to fight some more
Strange as it may seem it felt like she had always been right there
next to me cheering me on.. whispering ... You can do it momma
How natural I thought ,, then i drifted off into a healing slumber
holding fast to...
A love that only grows
Not a love that comes and goes
Pure and honest love
She had brought with her prayers... songs of the
other poems,,,personal get well messages. Gifts of
sustenance to a soul struggling in that valley of blackness.
Each poem a candle of hope.. wings to soar above the pain
A bridge to tomorrow bringing smiles and dreams of another tomorrow
Candles shining in the darkness of the soul .... she did all this for me ...
a woman she had never seen before
Smiles stuffed in pockets
Love and hope in both her hands
My Tiny Teddy came
What kind of girl is this? one who would travel
thousands of mikes through good and bad weather
leaving her home and her children ... seeking nothing'
but to make an old woman smile. Even if for one time only
Tell me how very special can one small girl be.. so unselfish
considerate of others.. She may never know it but she is my
hero. The world is a better place because of people like her.
People who love without borders,, give without taking.
Each day I thank God she came into my life.
Color her beautiful
She owns a piece of my heart
My beautiful teddy Bear
