Minds in Decay

Her organic forms of lush green and sacred belief
are endlessly linearized and denied,
and deleted of mystery and the sublime;
ordered and understood by selective reasoning,
on the screen her forms are cut
into rigid and highly accurate shapes.

Clinical and deprived, sterile and simplified,
they destroy the detail of sacred breath and line,
and fade away the blessed scent of life:
of her mouth, of her eyes,
of her mysterious nature that sings
in the earth, sea and sky.

The blessed moment intact, but diluted,
fragmented and betrayed day to day
by the modern world, by the scientific mind;
that designs the lines of linear breath and shape,
and believes only in what it can touch and see,
diluting the realms of sacred belief and dream.

Securing in themselves the intense illuminating power
of logic and reasoning,
feeding into their brains
a highly ordered way of thinking and believing,
that directs and shapes the straight and narrow lines
and takes them away from the natural place.

Suggesting to themselves they are highly evolved and supreme,
beyond all animal imagining and creativity,
but unknowing that within themselves
exists a state of disorder and decay;
that the miracles and wonders of the modern age
are but signs and symptoms
of a dying and ageing frame,
that slowly withers away from day to day.
