Reflection
I hear the slow melodic beat
Of drops that fall at summer's feet.
It weeps its thoughts and sobs its dream
Within a song so bittersweet.
As summer fades with time's descent
In footsteps slowing with tiptoes spent
I long to capture these moments all
Every sound and taste and scent
I breathe its gift of freshened dew
Of clean and cool and moments new...
Taste its goodness and quench my thirst
On splashes sipped of crystal brew
I feel its touch upon the skin
I long to dance, to waltz within
Each splashed reflection in the rain
That calls me, calls me, once again
