The Dream

A ginger like scent
awakens the dream once again
till even your shadow thrills me
depth and distance may vary
but I’d recognize it anywhere
         Nothing in particular
         yet everything explicitly
        brings the desire back
like the wisp of a breeze
         allowing a sail to blossom
         hinting at passionate possibilities
My mind skips past
a range of logical understanding
not keeping pace with fluid yearning
winding its way up the expressway
of my crossed legs
         Hormonal thunder rumbles
         eyes filled with lust read
         confessions on naked shoulders
juicy jargon fades in and out
as pheromones play hide and seek
         in a glass of chardonnay
Soon the black hole
of my morning coffee
will browbeat reality
bringing it back into focus
but for tonight…
I live in the ginger scented dream
