A Scattering Of Words

Enthralled by constant barrage
Of ideas within in my brain
I rummage through my scattered thoughts
Till a scare few remain
Just the essence of the human life
With it’s blood and sweat and tears
It’s laughter and it’s sorrows
Encountered over years
With trembling hand I lift my pen
It becomes a living blade
To bleed my words across this page
Till my vision is displayed
Words that leap forth full of sorrow
Of tragic loss…Great gain
Of faith in our heavenly fathers love
Of laughter after rain
It pledges help and service
In a brotherhood of man
To put to rest the words “we can’t”
Reiterates “we can’
It weeps for earth and nature
Decries crimes against the land
Preaches conservation.., Guard treasures
For the common greed of man
It bleeds till it can bleed no more
Then falls silent in my hand
Fool that I am … the flows not done
It will rise and write again
For dreams won’t die that easily
Life’s images won’t fade
I’ll arise to fight more battles
With those images on parade
'Words I know are only words
But words are all I have
To take your heart away'*
