We are Simply Poets
Careful Poets Choose Words that Sing
We are the words that speak to you
We flow from each writers pen
We have the power needed we know
To make this old world spin
We’ve spoke of harmony and love
Of the brotherhood of man
Told their stories and their legends
Ever since the world began
Yes, we are the words the dreamer dreams
In his quest for better days
When he sifts amongst his dreams and plans
Searching a better way
We are the words the sinner prays
When he talks to God at night
When he seeks divine protection
As he walks the road of life
We are the words the doer needs
To communicate his needs
To all of us who help him
Complete some special deed
We praise the athlete…condemn the fool
Aid the helpless and the weak
Correct the innocent…the children
Teach them what words to speak
Strung together…We’re impressive
With a mighty power filled sound
A fire to move or motivate
To bring you up or down
For we are poets…Warriors bold
Our sword the common pen
We make you laugh or cry …with luck
We ignite the soul of man.
