That I May Serve...

Dear Lord and Father, mighty is Thy Name
and I, so insignificant, Your child;
here, eyes down-cast, to wallow in my shame,
by worldly ways by temptations beguiled.
This undeserving, wilful, wayward soul
so humbly seeks forgiveness that she
may come before Your presence, clean and whole,
a better person, hopefully, to be.
Oh Lord, come...fill my cup with blessings sweet,
that I may serve Thee all my living days,
I, unworthy e'en to wash Thy feet,
may be permitted voice to sing Thy praise;
with loud hosannas, join the angel throng
as they proclaim Thy Name in heavenly song.
