Shadow Dancing

Shadow Dancing
summer slowly fades
slipping into autumn song
of crimson glory
I sit in contemplation of seasons. Each chasing the next in a never-ending race and I smile. They embrace, share a singular breath, waltz as one to an aria of gladness before one slips away so the other's journey may continue... for it must continue.
autumn and winter
share November's whisperings
across sullen skies
So it is in life. One moment lives only to blend into the next. Keeping its secrets. Consoling and comforting. Jubilant and playful. Forgiving and mournful. Fickle and constant. Vibrant and dull. One moment. One breath. One sigh. One life. Shadow dancing to the music of change.
winter flirts with spring
delicate and blustery
touching with one breath
I wonder why I had not admitted this truth. This revelation of life. Why did I resist it? Why remain caught? Rooted? Unmoving within yesterday's grasp? Seasons of sorrow do fade. Seasons of joy will bleed into those of restless moods. Seasons of fear slip into those of brilliant colors. Those of new beginnings. Of love. Of faith. Of hope. They embrace. They dance. They breathe. And we will reap the rewards.
