The Town Without Christmas
Once upon a sad time there was a town
Without knowledge of Christmas cheer.
They had only heard of Santa Claus
And his famous eight flying reindeer.
All they knew about was reality and work,
Always trying to make more more money.
No time for play or decorating a pretty tree,
Never laughing or thinking anything funny.
One Sunday a minister from a near by town
Came here out of curiosity, just to look around.
He saw the sad state all these people were in,
It was the worst he had ever known or found.
He told them the story of God's love for fellowman
All about Jesus the babe born on Christmas day,
How the shepherds and wise men came from afar,
To see the baby born in a stable on the hay.
The minister told of God's forgiveness to them,
Asking them to repent and accept God's love.
Soon everyone was rejoicing and they understood,
God wanted them to send praises to Him above.
Now they are a happy town giving gifts to others,
Teaching the children it's better to give than receive.
They formed a church and found happiness to share,
Helping others to know about Jesus and to believe.
