Ticket to Somewhere
Got onboard with no thought in mind, no destination planned at all.
I just decided to leave it all behind, riding on, summer scenery morphs into fall.
Each town passed through had its ambiance, a little social climate to call its own.
This relaxed traveling man caught up in a trance no longer feels the binds of his home.
The passing world, through a semi-clean window, reaches up to offer a hello.
Laconic cattle grazing blithely in a meadow have seen innumerable buses come and go.
The bergs and cities blend into a blur as numbness encompasses weary hind quarters.
The feeling of freedom is prompted to stir while passing by city limits and borders.
Somewhere and somehow I’ll feel the urge to disembark and experience the commotion.
From this vessel a seeker will emerge, but not yet, I’ll roll on ‘til we reach the ocean.
