Get Rid Of The Advertisements

Nobody Listens

She sits in silence,
sighs in sorrow;
nobody listens now.
Those dear ones gone
who paid attention,
none ask the why and how.

A pity, that...
she imagines
it's all she's good for;
so much in her head,
her field of knowledge gleaned
from years of all she'd done and read.

Never rated
herself philosopher,
though the doctorate disagreed,
her knowledge base eclectic,
built for fortitude, not speed.

Old body gone to wrack and ruin,
brain clear as a bell;
but none to bother asking
that which she could answer well.

She sits and sighs
in sorrow.
