Down South

Our summer draws now to a close,
chill winter waits around the bend;
Southern Hemisphere conditions
are the ones I comprehend.
Antarctic chills come with March winds
and April showers drench the land,
yet no extremes as in the north;
I'm glad too...those I could not stand.
We have no need for heating here,
rarely even do we see a frost.
Simply pulling another layer on
beats the inflated power cost.
Light mists hover o'er the river
and there remain until sweet spring.
Thank You, Lord, that You provide
our smallest need, our everything.
