It's Best
It’s best that I am leaving
the time has come to say goodbye,
it is me I kept deceiving
to even think you’d give our love a try.
The time has come to walk away
from a dream I never should have tried,
to even think there's a brighter day
where love lives instead of dies.
I feel such a fool to love you
I should have known I'd be alone,
life makes no sense without you
but still I must face it on my own.
Tomorrow again I’ll just exist
I’ll hide myself behind a foolish mask,
dreaming again of the love I missed
I should have known better than to ask.
So I say again it’s best that I am leaving
and to your heart I say goodbye,
it’s only me I’ve been deceiving
to think you’d give our love a try.
We could have had it all
a love that lasts to the very end,
but now all I can do is recall
why I ever took a chance again?
