The Long Beach Pike

My heart skips across this sleepy lagoon

Like a smooth, flat, river rock

Searching for that rainbows end

Knowing the melody of the mind

will carry me straight through

to your tangible heart strings

I feel the silky warmth of your breast

Lingering upon my raging chest

And the twilight repose of the sleeping dog

Is unaware of the dancing feet upon this

Long Beach sand of blue memories

We rode the pike out over the ocean

On that roller coaster track of wood

As you clasped my heart in your hand

I knew there would be sweet memories

to follow, and they did

Cause and effect..

Yet, someday Isle

will prevail

And déjà vu will remember you

Just as I do now…my love

In quiet whispers of

“ Sweet dreams and Flying Machines”
