Consuming Desire

We laid in the grass of a summers evening,
On a hill overlooking the bay,
As the sun slowly set, shooting rays through the sky,
Golden arrows across where we lay,

In my arms you felt so soft and sweet,
In my heart was a burning fire,
As the night drew near, and the stars appeared,
We were overwhelmed by a consuming desire,

Then from behind the veil of shadows
And the thrill of fervent delight,
We found ourselves wrapped in ecstasy
Just you and I in the moonlight,

On that wondrous twilight evening
A night made for lovers it seems,
We reveled in passionate harmony
In the misty shadows and moonbeams.
