Spring Floral Basket

Hiding coyly in the garden,
Yes, you are so pretty,
Absolutely lovely flower
Countryside or city.
Indigo to bluest blue,
Nicest perfume ever,
Tiny, fragrant scented bells,
Hyacinth so clever.

Red and yellow blossoms,
Amethyst ones too,
Nurtured by warm garden soils
Under skies of blue
Nodding heads, brightly coloured,
Cheerful they appear,
Undulating in the breeze,
Lightly blooming here.
Urgent showers fall,
Sun beams over all.

Lovely lilacs lingering
Intense perfume pervades,
Light mauve and very pretty,
Adored by demure maids.
Clever little lilacs,
Secretly hide in glades.

Tall and slender in the garden
Unnerve me with their beauty,
Luxurious in jewel colours,
Indeed, their wealth a booty.
Prettiest of springtime flowers,
Satin tulip is a cutie.

Found hiding in simplest garden beds,
Redolent of fragrance rare,
Elegant, creamy rich blossoms,
Equal to none by compare.
Sweetest of perfume in springtime,
I'd like to know, are there better?
And so as not to hurt feelings,
Somebody sent me a 'No' letter.

Delightfully silent, the trumpet,
Amber and gold in the spring,
Fly little birdies and butterflies,
Feathers or colourful wing.
Open your face to the sunshine
Dear little children will sing
If you make someone smile every morning
Love will defeat every thing.
