What Humans Don't Know
She thinks I’m a dog but I don’t agree
I think I’m human she just can’t see
That I am her heart when I lay my head
Right by her arm next to her bed
I am her smile which no one can see
But it shows in my eyes if you look at me
I am her voice when she wants to be heard
And when I bark loud you’ll hear the right word
I am her laugher when I yip with glee
And I know inside she’s just feeling free
I am her feet with my four tough paws
Cause sometimes her knees want to withdraw
I am her nose cause I smell all scents
And when she’s scared, I’m confident
I’m her affection when you visit our home
Her tenderness when she writes a poem
And I have something that humans don’t know
Deep down inside, I have a soul
I am her dog, Joshua
