Do You Clerihew?

The Starlite Café is a sore spot for me today
So here in this clerihew I will have my say
The Challenge Page I attempt to open again and again
I’m sure it will happen....the question is “when?”
Pete has attempted this form...a brave soul is he
To the Challenge Page door that man has a key
But I stand outside looking sad and forlorn
And if you have listened, you know I have sworn!
Julie will write one or perhaps even two
Then Brandy will follow....I know this is true
Renee might even give it a go
But unfortunately this poet might be a “no show.”
Lisa will pen the one that deserves the prize
Others will bookmark it if they are wise
But my words in the challenge will not partake
Good thing a cash prize is not actually at stake!
So here is my clerihew standing by itself
No challenge entries surround it..it’s alone on a shelf
Please know I attempted and did my best
But trying to get into the Challenge Page has me distressed!
