More Than a Disco Queen

More Than a Disco Queen

photography by multi curious

She waits tables at a blue plate diner,
smiling for tips and jive talkin,
humming a Bee Gees tune

how deep is your love, how deep....

staying alive for Saturday night,
when she slides on her boogie shoes
and sheer spangled dress as the doors

of the Disco Inferno swing open sesame,
when she burns up the floor with
night fever and a calypso breakdown

you should be dancing, yeah....

staying alive for Saturday night,
for Sunday morning's Fifth of Beethoven
when she is more than a woman
and a waitress, more than a disco queen.
