Only Hope

Lose, if you will, the grasping, scheming self,
not give a second thought to your own needs.
Yourself,your ego, place upon a shelf;
in stead take pains to grow a heart that bleeds.
A warning friends, this could be your last day;
far better live it the best way you can.
Off the record is simply not God's way;
time a fleeting gift He allocates to man.
Seize all that you are given, live it well;
the ones who love you best will grieve the most.
Moment of your final breath? Who can tell?
That will be all there is, no time to boast.
Is there amongst you one greater than He?
Thine only hope lies in eternity.

Friedrich Schiller
