My Love Brought me Light
My love, my dear twin river of soul
brought light and peace and balance again
when my life spun out of control.
Worries nagged at me night and day,
darkness pulled at every limb to grab me,
take me, and swallow me in,
if not for reminders from him to pray
and believe all will work out okay,
to stop where I was and take care of me
to the best of my ability, and then simply rest,
to let go... to just be.. I finally the ex insomniac
slept more peacefully than I had in years
And the spirit of my love held me throughout tears
I woke up from my night of sleep,
feeling for the first time in my life not only at peace
I felt.. Complete.
