A Convention of Fairies

~*~

Prisms of many colors filter down
Down deep into the chasms below
Below the earth's surface and then
Then the ground soon begins to glow

This begins the convention of fairies
Fairies come from both far and near
Near and dear to our hearts they are
Are they ever found fraught with fear

I think not as they always seem happy
Happy, I do not associate it with tears
Tears of those who might be afraid
Afraid of even their shadows for years

Fairies sparkle and they have powers
Powers over all including mortal man
Man can try to catch a fairy in a jar
Jar kept fairies you won't find in this land

Fays, the enchanters and enchantresses
Enchantresses always the prettiest by far
Far away live the nature fairies of the sea
Sea fairies are mermaids, a pirate's hurrah

Enter kings and queens of distant tribes
Tribes of little sprites, leprechauns and gnomes
Gnomes are the guardians over sacred things
Things made of precious gems and stones

The elves dance and play stringed instruments
Instruments play a huge part in this gathering
Gathering all together when the maestro begins
Begins playing fairy songs they all like to sing

After the evening of fun and games was nigh
Nigh also was the moon and stars in the sky
Sky flights in the night, some fairies flew home
Home but will meet again in the sweet by and by

Al's Form Poetry is Fun! 12 Challenge

Loop Poetry is a poetry form created by Hellon.
There are no restrictions on the number of stanzas
nor on the syllable count for each line. In each stanza,
the last word of the first line becomes the first word of
line two, last word of line 2 becomes the first word of
line 3, last word of line 3 becomes the first word of line 4.
This is followed for each stanza. The rhyme scheme is abcb.
