To Raise
 


At auction, take care not to raise
your hands to bid for leather chaise
or things which have seen better days,
the last bid stays; the last bid stays.

A criminal, red-handed caught
raises his hands, submission sought,
gives up the fight as he was taught,
his booty nought; his booty nought.

When volunteers are called to serve
it's like hands work by reflex nerve,
you think again, attempt to swerve,
to self-preserve; to self-preserve.

In worship, when you praises bring,
oh raise your hand in awe to sing,
whether the tune is pop or swing,
just praise the King; just praise the King.
