Get Rid Of The Advertisements

Kiss of the Muse

The words seem to pour from the depths of my soul
Fulfilling a need, thus making me whole.
Whence comes this passion that burns deep within?
How did it happen? Where did it begin?

What has inspired my need to compose,
Whether rhyming verses or flowing prose?
Do I seek fame, or recognition?
Or am I driven by competition?

I question what sets a ‘true’ poet apart,
That results in munificence straight from the heart?
My thoughts are inspired by poetic muse,
She guides my pen on which words to choose.

No fame, nor fortune, nor attention to claim,
But writing, creating, alone is my aim
For blessed Erato has taken my hand
And my will is now hers alone to command.
