Beneath a Dancing Moon

There was a time when love
hid its face from me
Refusing to acknowledge the innocence
Of my queries and my song
My preparations of frustration, and
Sometimes it would bewilder me..
Like an impossible minor Barre chord

It was then at the waters’ edge
Somewhere near Raging Waters
When a dancing moon
Moved in repetition
upon ripples of the illuminating surface

Bending and swirling and filling my soul
With its spirit
Touching and seeking its own release

Amidst the flora and fauna..
Your smile appeared
Beneath a dancing moon
And we were
never the same

Of this, I remember
