What Can We Do?
Forget the pain and hurt we feel today?
No we cannot forget those who suffer,
But we can lay them at the feet of Jesus,
And not make their misery tougher.
If we show love by saying kind words,
Letting a smile cross our face today,
We may be able to give encouragement
To others we meet along life's way.
Before us, we see hardships brought on,
By themself because they sin daily.
Drugs and booze, hate and greed,
Makes life become a bit scaly.
What hurts most is seeing the children,
Suffering because of what adults do,
Our Lord must be angry over little ones,
Punishment he'll give when due.
More and more we're now hearing about,
Those who are going so far far astray,
Leading a life of hopelessness and strife,
It seems to get worse every day.
People out of work, losing their homes,
Not enough food on the table for all,
Yet Cigs, drugs, alchohol comes first,
Upon family and friends they call.
The way of life chosen affects others,
When minds fail to see the truth,
We don't have hope for a change,
By going to the voting booth.
TV shows are all about dooms day,
How soon the world will be destroyed,
The only hope we have is in serving God,
Telling them this, they are annoyed.
What can we do to help those we love,
In fact nothing except keep loving them,
Letting our christian light shine all the way,
With prayer their days won't be as grim.
