Ponderings of Senility

~*~

When I think of what may lie ahead
In case my mind should falter or fail
I will ponder upon things such as this
What if I become way too old and frail

Will I simply walk through life aimlessly
Playing hide and seek with my memory
Still to cross o'er that bridge of no return
To a place where nothing is of concern

If dark shadows should eclipse my sanity
Perhaps I'll ask God to let them pass quickly
