Dreamland

I am in a dreamland,
but can I wake up with you?

Nights of ghouls and dark-wandering creatures are past
now that you, my knight, have cut down the vines,
and to think that you came to me here, and now,
a hero at just the perfect time.

Surrounded by all manner of monsters and creepers,
my only refuge the nearby window-seat,
because only glass lies between my joy and I,
only glass separates me from my heaven.
And if I were to stay here forever,
I am sure I would wish that I were to die.

But because you climbed the curse-enshrouded tallest tower
to take my hand and lead me into your promised land,
my nightmares are over and you have taught me lucidity
and control over what our minds have secretly planned.

I am in a dreamland,
but can I wake up with you?
