Humanity, bringing complex thought to passion,
has rendered spontaneity out of fashion.
Only die-hard and romantic souls relate,
scratched with thorns 'round the heart by errant mate.
The love process, they say, must be well planned,
surface tension uncontrolled, out of hand.
Of course, some will be shocked with hearts ablaze;
its neediness continues to amaze.
Real love is patient, kind and does not boast,
potential there for hope when needed most.
