Special Place

You should see my 'office',
my studio-workroom;
Ches has designed it and structured just so.
Blocked off one end of the enclosed veranda,
gave me shelving all 'round
and a corner to sew.

Deep, tall shelves for folders,
shadow boxes for knick-knacks,
so cosy on chill nights;
no chill winds through big cracks.

The big empty wall
is now filled with a board
for those Indigenous artifacts
I treasure and hoard.

Behind where I'm sitting now,
facing the west,
a rogue's gallery of grandchildren
...you'd never have guessed.

Sewing space stars my new special table,
purpose designed,
yes, it wears the CHES label.

The whole thing remarkable, wonderful, good?
It's built with sweet love and re-cycled wood.
