No Greater Forgiveness

Who are you? Yes you, the one in my mirror!
Do I know you?

Well you should, I am you!

If you are me, why are you standing over there
instead of being over here like you should be?

It's because I am your alter ego and I am
over here to help you look deep within!

As I see it, you silly oaf, there's nothing wrong with me?

Ha, ha, ha! You said it, as far as you can see?
The mere fact I am here and you are over there
is good enough reason to stay for me!

Let's get to it then, I don't have time for this nonsense!

That's too bad, since you're the one who summoned me!

You've got to be kidding! I'm not the one here who is crazy!

Oh no? Think about it a bit! I believe that is you who's
talking to yourself in a mirror! I wish you could see things
from where I sit!

Hallelujah! Oh this is great! Now you're morphing
into my mother? Couldn't you please just dissipate?

Hello, sweetheart, I'm here to forgive you for being
angry with me for something your sister said. You
know when she's mad, she gets defensive and says
mean things off the top of her head! She asked for
the truth and you gave it to her! She was hurt and
wanted to hurt you back! So she struck the hardest
with something she said I said about you! Because
of how much I'd always meant to you, she figured
your heart was the best place to attack! You know
in your soul I would never say such a thing but then
in the heat of the moment you lambasted me! I may
be up in heaven, dear, but there is not much ever
down here that gets past me! And I know you've felt
bad for being angry with me so I am speaking to you
now to let you know, as your mother, I understand
and never never forget my love for you will withstand
until the day we shall all be together again!

Slowly the image in the mirror, it faded away .......

I looked once again to see what I could see. This time
it was just my mirror image staring right back at me!
But I still whispered, 'thank you, Mom!'
