To Judge Not

OH may I not be petty or small-minded,
LORD grant me wisdom, that I not be vain,
HELP me to strive and always be reminded;
'ME' must fade that thou might rise again.
NOT that I'd wish to re-live things you've taught,
TO know once more anxieties attached,
DESPISE, devalue that which Your blood's bought,
OR, bigoted, judge wrongly what's mis-matched.
OPPOSE, just for the sake of opposition
WHAT others seem to think's a good idea.
I, just by taking the reverse position,
DO stymie things, in ignorance and fear.
NOT willing to relinquish judgment's gavel,
UNDERSTAND I this...there's still far to travel!

Quote: William Penn
