WITH faith which can move mountains, how can we be grim?
HIM who loves me totally (and all that jazz),
AS one to whom His words apply
MY aim is to delight,
LIGHT up my surrounds and all this land
AND, confessing Him as Lord, never to deny
MY aim is to defeat the world's temptation.
SALVATION brings good cheer, not gloom and doom.
WHOM shall we trust to lift up our morale?
SHALL we just prepare then to curl up and die?
I think not...and let me make this clear,
FEAR does not apply, God is no myth!
(in the vertical)
This is a 'cascading rhyme' form. The last word
in the first line rhymes with the first word in the
second line. The last word in the second line
rhymes with the first word in the third line and
so on to the last line where the last word rhymes
back with the first word in the poem.
