Get Rid Of The Advertisements

Okay

The still reassuring
                 if somewhat shaky
cadence of your voice
tells me you will be okay
         leaves fall
from the great oak outside your window
         forming gold and orange
                 question marks
         across the autumn sky
but you have no questions
                 you are sure
just as you always have been
the years have stolen so much
         mere details you say
but your independence continues to reign
                          my heart screams
         okay
                 you have to be okay
but I know better than to say the words
for they would be drowned in tears
                         instead
         I squeeze the phone tightly
allowing that sweet cadence to calm me
                 and for just a moment
the windmills of my heart turn perfectly
allowing me to believe
                         everything will be okay

I love you, Tante
