Twenty-Six flames dancing across the water,|
Flickering candles floating in a fountain.
A vigil below the night sky,
In remembrance of innocent lives.
Twenty-Six angels calling out for peace,
An end to all violence, hate, and greed.
Twenty-Six spirits waiting for you and I,
To awaken from our slumber
And finally realize...
..That we have created this reality
Of death, hate, and fear.
Twenty-Six souls beneath GOD's alter,
Each one sheds a tear.
Twenty-Six stars in heaven shine,
Praying that we will one day see,
And make the choice to turn away
From violence, hate, and greed.
Dedicated to the children and teachers of Sandy Hook Elementary School and the incident that re-directed the consciousness of humanity in 2012.
When centered the poem is shaped as a little angel with a halo.
