Thoughts About Wishful Thinking

Thinking About Wishful Thinking

Wishful thinking, I wonder if it's such a good thing
No hoping nor dreaming, no disappointing
But, if we didn't wish, our lives wouldn't grow
Things would all remain the same, status quo

I could wish for all the money in this world
or a thick head of hair, so beautiful and curled
maybe a Mercedes Benz or a wicked Jaguar, or
to be asked for my autograph because I'm a star

Material wants bring only momentary joy
the same as puppy love does for a girl and boy
Ever so often that joy sparkles when remembered
yet, for a wish, something lasting should be rendered

My wish would be for everyone, not for just me
Love and peace around the world should do nicely
But, a life without pain, heartbreak, or misery
would be my ideal wish for all eternity
