'Great Spirit'

Oh Great and Wise Spirits, whose voice I hear upon the winds
whose breath gives life to the world,
Hear me now,
As my journeys here, crosses its final path

I come to you, with saddened heart, One of your many children
I am old, weak and tired,
I have seen the spirit of the Great White Owl,
come to guide my soul, upon the wind,
in silent, peaceful flight

My time here grows near, I need you now, your Strength,
Wisdom & Guidance
Hear me Great Spirit, that I may pass in peace,
between this world into the Great Beyond

I sing my song to you, that I am allowed, to walk among my brothers,
The Sioux, The Crow, The Apacheā
Chippewa & Cherokee
May I walk in the smoke, and ride among the winds forever
in the beauty, of the heavens, and the great beyond

Let these eyes ever behold the beauty of the soul
And the beauty of the Red and Purple Sunsetā
Give these hands strength, like the Bear, let them respect all things
you and mother earth have given

Make my ears sharp, like the deer, to hear your whispered voice.
Make me wise, like the owl, so that I may know
and understand these things you have taught your children.
May I forever remember the lessons you have written
in every leaf and rock

Make me strong, like the Bear, not to be superior to my brothers,
but to fight my greatest enemy....

Myself

Make me ready to come to you, with open and clear eyes,
Like the Great Eagle & The Red Tail Hawk
Let my steps be silent, quick and light, like the Great Timber Wolf,
As I take this journey, passing swiftly into the night

When this life fades, just as the setting sun,
let my spirit ride among the winds following the graceful arc
of Sister Moon as she illuminates the way,
may my spirit come to you,
Without Shame
