SOMEONE TO LOVE HER
 
held aloft by tears of memory's silent recall she lies
hovering in corners of darkness as dreams escape her
and sleep does not hold her at twilight
while chills fill the air with sadness
and slowly creeps up her spine
to bind her captive there
unnoticed by the child
who needs someone
to love
her
