Get Rid Of The Advertisements

The Time Of Charm Passed.
 
In 1988 my wife and I took a trip to see my childhood friend in Orlando

FL, we drove from upstate NY, it was the first long trip by auto. The friend

and his wife were having many problems, they had 3 young children. The

bloom had come off the rose for them, my wife and I were in a state of

bliss,

one afternoon we were sitting on their sofa right next to each other and

like

I would always do in those days I held my wife's hand, my friends second

child a girl who was about 5 or 6 at the time turned and said to me 'why do

you hold Ellen's hand? the innocent question was so cute and amusing I said

'that is what you do when you love someone' her parents were near

estrangement so she must not have seen such a display of affection, she

was my favorite child of theirs and I never forgot the time of.................
