One II

Prelude: Moving right along. Another one comment, out of 55 this time. I know the title One II does not attract much attention, but that's the way it's going to go. Sort of a test to see if what I wrote years ago is still new to some of you, and appreciated or not. Once again, no comment is necessary. I just would like these poems to be read. That reminds me...I remembered the rest of that poem I had written in high school, back in 1965. 'A thought is like a cloud; It goes anywhere; And just like the wind it goes anywhere; It is up to us to make our own thoughts grow; release them in the world; That everyone might know; Please release your thoughts: Don't keep them in your head; They'll benefit no one, when with you, they are dead.' I think I have just decided to keep my thoughts/poems alive.

Your Kiss Brushes My Past Away

Your kiss brushes
My past away
As soft, smooth
Motions gently sway...

A music-muddled memory
Makes my emotions atrophy—
Useless feelings—
Felt before—
Promised once
But nevermore...

Until this moment
They half-revive—
Doubt I was dead
But now I'm half alive—
Halfway empty
Halfway full
Halfway sharpened—
Still quite dull...

Forced to the surface
From the Deep
Where I chose to live
And eat
And sometimes sleep...

Held my breath
For so long
My heart stopped beating—
It seemed wrong...

Now
I breathe your breath in—
Words surprise—
Some I hear
Some, memorize...

You resuscitate
My hollow heart
Jump-start my spirit
Life impart...

With that one kiss
You brush away
Not just the Hurt
But the Decay.

Rawland

It's in your Kiss.
