Snowbound Hostage
Disappearing colors of gold and bronze
Subdued now by white of snow
Peaked trees stand nearly bare
From Old Mans Winters blow

Sparrows seek to find shelter
From the shivering cold
Squirrels hope to have enough food stored
For the family in their fold

The air is crisp from North winds chill
Frozen ground hard to walk upon
Darkness falls so quickly
And stays well into the dawn

Mezmerizing as it may be at times
As snowflakes fall to Mother earth
I can hardly wait until
The time of Springs re-birth
